Birding has been rough all summer. After May migration died down, things have been bleak to say the least. But this past weekend of August 9th-10th, things really took a turn for the better. As Summer winds down and we edge closer to Fall, birds will really start moving again with those migrations. I saw a lot of really great birds this weekend and I’m excited to see even more as we get closer to September.

Great Blue Heron, American White Pelican, Great Egret

Ring-necked Pheasant

Ring-billed Gull, Belted Kingfisher

Red-tailed Hawk, Mallard

House Sparrow, Mourning Dove, Barn Swallow

Red-headed Woodpecker
